- One of the most unique and exciting experiences in the Maldives is a seaplane transfer to the chosen tropical island resort. A ride with so called "Barefoot Pilots" should be set on the bucket list of any repeating visitor.

Hotter than hell, noisy as hell but the most wonderful way to arrive at any holiday destination. Flying from Male to resort islands is breathtaking as you fly at 4000 ft over the atolls.
I agree Kev.Sounds like a lawnmower inside. But absolutely fantastic experience!!
This is the best job I ever had. I was flying the Twin Otter in the Maldives in 2008/2009 and I still miss it 🤙
did you leave for a larger airline company?
Hey, commercial pilot here. I’m curious what the process is of getting a job like this, or if it’s even realistic nowadays.
Having just found this video, all I can say is wow! What a job, or a hobby that pays. I suspect you are quiet but at least maintenance can be done. Hope all you pilots are ok and we can see you soon.
I fell in love with these little planes during my time in Maldives. The islands just wouldn't be the same without them 👣🕶🛩
Danke für die schöne Doku über die Wasserflugpiloten, ich habe mich sehr über diesen Beitrag gefreut da ich selbst schon mitgeflogen bin.
Love to see these Twin Otters on floats ! I have 4800 hours on the DHC-6-300, so I can really appreciate what these chaps are doing ! Loved to fly the Twin Otter into the most difficult places, under very demanding circumstances ! Fantastic STOL performance !
thank`s Andrew.we have been on the plains for our last 12 holidays to the maldives we will be back in 2021 .we will look out for you.when off to Viligandu .Jack and Janeen.
What an awesome job that would be. Hope you all have fun doing that. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
Great flying wow
Great job with the video Andrew, very well done. I flew for Hummingbird/TMA years ago and this was the perfect for showing my kids what life and job were like. 🤙
Thank you! We appreciate your comment very much. It was a great experience to accompany Andrew and learn about the operations backstage.
Cool war auch der kurze Einblick in die Wartungshalle der Maschinen.
very good video captain
Landschaftlich eine sehr schöne Gegend wie ich finde. Bin immer wieder gerne auf den Malediven.
Great Canadian made planes!!
Incredible
congrats on highest viewed so far!
Now this is what I call a job !! Among others work related - workplaces what you would also call a job.
Too bad that some of us are born in start without any chance to do that kinda staff (you can't be and do anything in life) // you need to have skills and bit of luck to be able do it!
The Captain looks so cool. Great guy to fly with?
i flew with him several years when i was there, HE IS great
Difficult, because you're laughing your ass off for 6 hours a day if you're flying with him
He seems so happy doing his job! Isn't that vital?
Das muss auch ein Traumberuf sein dort als Pilot zu arbeiten
Marie Luise ist einer! von mir jedenfalls...
RBS HAS FOUND A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH !
That is how I used to fly in the Virgin Islands back in the early 70's. Barefoot. I drove my car that way too. In fact for the entire seven years I lived on St. Croix I never wore a pair of shoes in all those years. I wore Buffalo Sandles (Made in India). Back when they were $4 bucks for a pair! When I moved to Miami later... it took me three months to get accustomed to wearing shoes and socks again.
Santa Cruz?
magnificent
Honey moon suits with waterplane are more expensive than with normal plane. And, best job ever!
Omg i love this song and the video: just WOW!! â¤
Kenneth A. Hickman can you tell the Artist who sing the song
Nice to know they use FlightRadar24 for their tower control. :b
I love driving With barefoot!
Probably the highest concentration of Twin Otters in the world!
Hello capt.. Interested to know where or the flight academy which offers twin otter type rating...
Any Idea if you can start at TMA without great knowledge in aviation? I fly in Glider Planes but when I'm finished with school I think I'll have around 1000 hours of flight max! Do you think it's possible to start the career of an Seaplane Barefoot Pilot?
What's the scope of getting a pilot job in TMA.. I heard its gonna be difficult
that is Awesome sir,i Applied as well for first Officer TMA Hopefully ill get hired. All the best!!
Good luck!!!
Did you got any answer? Im thinking about for FO either

Are these type of aircrafts equipped with a black box as well?
Nope
You can land anywhere
This is a dumb question but, is there ATC at resorts?
No ATC at the resorts.
@@accountzy Makes sense
Is it better to be a barefoot pilot or a white glove pilot?
Just imagine how more classy this would be if they used true flying boats such as the Grummans
Bullshit. A twin otter is the best.... obviously YOU have no clue.😎✌🏼
I live in maldives
Dhivessakaa dhimaa vejje emme fahun 😜🇲🇻
Same
Hello
Can you guys land on land?
they kinda water on water
Dauert das 16 Wochen??
Willie M Garrett was denn
I hope no pilots have Athlete's Foot!!! This would be a great way to pass it along... Think of public (hotels, motels) pool side showers....yep....
Sucks that i failed the interview to become a cabin crew of these . Though the services and all is great in Tma . Their way of recruitment is one of the worst that i have seen .
Possibly the only better job is flying the blimp above red sox games
I'd love to buy the Otter 100 for the MSFS flight simulator...but if ONLY the water representation was more 'real life'....very bland...and does not inspire me to purchase...until then! This would be a fun flight in P3D v5.3! Aerosoft? How 'bout it!
hit my ear x3!!!!!! ç-´ç·š!!
Cringe
Sir can indian become a pilot in Maldives pls reply

Depends
I give foot massages
A real pilot does not iron his uniform at 4am 😂

Hi Emil, we just created the short documentary with Captain Andrew Farr and TMA. So best way to get more information would be, if you just ask directly Trans Maldivian Airways www.transmaldivian.com/
